Car radiator components

The car cooling system has various components, of which the radiator is the most important element. In the following, we have briefly introduced the other components of this system:

The radiator tank is used for ventilation and also to maintain the liquid pressure inside the radiator.

The propeller or radiator fan makes the cooling operation faster and causes the excess heat of the engine to be removed much sooner.

The thermostat is a thermocouple valve that is placed in the path of water movement from the engine to the radiator. Whenever the radiator water temperature rises above a certain limit, the thermostat valve opens and hot water from the engine will go to the radiator. After cooling the engine and radiator water, the thermostat valve is closed again.

Car water pump (water pump) pulls the liquid inside the radiator into the engine and provides the necessary pressure to move this liquid inside the pipes towards the radiator.

There is a set of hoses and pipes to transfer water between the radiator and the engine, the upper hose is the inlet of hot water from the engine to the radiator, and the lower hose transfers the cooled water from the radiator to the engine.

Some cars, in addition to the electric fan, also use a mechanical propeller to cool the engine. This propeller receives its power from the engine by means of a pulley and a propeller belt. Whenever the car engine starts, the propeller also rotates and cools the engine. In Iran, Pikan and Peugeot Ardi and... have such a system.

The fan is placed in front of the radiator and brings the ambient air to the radiator blades with higher pressure. The presence of a fan makes the hot water cool down much faster and the engine cooling operation takes less time.

The radiator system is stabilized in its place by a series of support bases so that it is not damaged in the strong shaking of the car.

It is used to check the amount of liquid inside the radiator, as well as add water and antifreeze solution, or remove excess gases from inside the radiator.

The car radiator is considered one of the most important technical components of the engine, and its failure can be very expensive, because defects such as the burning of the cylinder head gasket, weakening of the ring and piston, overheating of sensitive engine components, are among the consequences of the radiator failure. . So for car maintenance, radiator service and inspection should be among your priorities. Always use a 50-50 ratio of antifreeze and water in the radiator to prevent the car from boiling and the car's engine and cylinder will not rot. If the car's radiator failure is not repaired on time, it will damage the rest of the engine components, and it will reduce the price of the used car when selling the car.
